Testimonials

My customers tell it best!  Here are a few comments from some of the authors I’ve worked with over the past few years.

“The book design and layout was exactly what I had in mind.”

Keisha Leatherman, author of Stomp Out DiabetesMy book, Stomp Out Diabetes, sat for several years collecting dust simply because I didn’t know the process of taking that next step. Being a first-time published author came with many questions and uncertainties in the beginning. However, after researching online I found myself revisiting Sheila’s “Look Great in Print” website.

After contacting her and receiving a prompt response, everything simply started to fall in place. Our backgrounds had so many similarities it seemed like the perfect fit. Sheila took time to answer any and all of my questions and eased my mind of the doubts I once had.

In addition, the work she produced was top notch, to no surprise. The book design and layout was exactly what I had in mind. She also worked with me to provide the best quality at a most reasonable price.

Whether one is a first-time author or a veteran writer, Sheila exhibits professionalism, creativity and expertise, which could benefit any author of any level.

“Took time to understand and appreciate the concept of our book,
enhancing the vision in some important ways.”

Sherry Hiller

We have just had a book published and it is on Amazon and Barnes & Noble!  Exciting times, and we could not have gotten this accomplished without design help from Sheila at Look Great In Print.  Our book is Outdoor Cooking With Fire by Sherry Hiller and Carolyn Wheat.

Our book was the neverending story of trying to figure out how to get into print.  I finally got online and searched for a Texas book designer.  I wanted someone with a personality that I could relate to, which in my book is a Texan!  Also, I wanted someone with experience, however, I did not want to get lost in the big idea factories in Austin, Dallas and Houston.  Also, a big consideration was finding someone I could afford.  I searched for a short time and found what I was looking for in little ‘ole Fort Worth.  I filled out her questionnaire online, she called me, we talked extensively about my vision for the book I had written, and I knew we had made a connection.  I knew that she would be easy to work with and that she would be able to help get the book into the right format with an appealing design, and ready for publishing.

Some of the skills that Sheila has as a book designer extend past design.  She definitely is a creative designer. But in addition to creativity she is able to organize the flow of the book.  I think most book designers would be able to set up a book and add design elements, but she took time to understand and appreciate the concept of our book, enhancing the vision in some important ways. She had the mechanics of the book under control quickly; layout, physical attributes, format, design elements. Her skills also came into play with improvement of the organization of the content, suggesting appropriate details that make all the difference. She also is knowledgeable about website construction for your book, book marketing strategies, and she designs personalized, for your book, promotional materials. We think our website is absolutely beautiful and portrays our book the way we want. The video she did for us is on the website, as well as on YouTube. Wow! Sheila Fredrickson has excellent communication skills, is personable, skilled, experienced, and easy to work with. She’s very accomplished as a book designer. We highly recommend her.

“Every detail and aspect was done to perfection.”

Diana BanksAfter making the decision to write my first book, and completing the manuscript, I began the process of searching and praying for the right person or people to do the formatting, layout and book design. Knowing that as the book is published … ‘first impressions are lasting impressions’, I wanted someone that paid attention to detail, a person with knowledge and creative talent, someone who had discernment and could feel the heart of the book, and last but not least … .a person that I was comfortable communicating with and could trust.

An international author who is a mentor and friend recommended Sheila of ‘Look Great in Print’. After corresponding with her, I knew that I had found the right person. She made sure that every detail and aspect of the book was done to perfection … and made this new experience a pleasurable one.

Not only did I find ‘the best of the best’ to design the book … I also found a friend.

 “Invaluable Knowledge and Expertise …”

Gay McWhorterI can honestly say I do not think I would have published my book, Healing Activities for Children in Grief, if I had not had Sheila to guide me through the publishing process. I had been working at The WARM Place for ten years as a grief counselor and was well aware of the wonderful newsletters that Sheila had created for The WARM Place. I approached Sheila with the idea of publishing the activities I had created as a resource for counselors who work with grieving children. I had no idea how to take my ideas and transform them into a book. Sheila took the information and transferred it to a format suitable for publishing. She also edited all of my written material and was able to find artwork that complimented my activities. When I first published the book Sheila also designed promotional flyers that jump-started my sales. Later on when printing costs started to escalate, Sheila presented me with the idea of changing to Printing On Demand. Changing to POD was a terrific cost-saving solution for me. Sheila was able to reformat my book and do the set-up for me so I did not have to start over. Her knowledge and expertise have been invaluable to me in the success of my book.

“Spectacular Results!”

Martin SabelI could not have asked for a better person than you to handle the design and layout of my book.

The results are spectacular! Many of the folks seeing the pre-release copies commented on the excellent quality of your work. When they asked who did it, I mentioned your name with pride.

Thanks to for all the helpful information about publishers, printers, and ISBNs. You made everything run smooth as silk. Your gentle prodding helped, too. The book would not have been completed as quickly without it!

You are a delight to work with, Sheila.

“More than a book designer …”

Robert G. BeaversI spent two years working on my first book, and wanted to make sure that my sweat grew into a great work. I didn’t need some typesetter; I needed the very best book designer I could find. My search ended in a face to face meeting with Sheila, and I sensed I couldn’t have been in better hands. I knew nothing about the book publishing business, but that didn’t seem important any longer. I found the one who would walk me through the more than 332 pages of book designing jungle, and explain it as if I was being taught.

Her task seemed daunting as I saw it; make a book which held more than 150 pictures within those 332 pages. But my nonfiction book quickly took shape under Sheila’s talented hand. One chapter at a time, it all fell into place, and more importantly, it fell that way deliberately. Sheila’s more than a book designer; she’s a mentor and advisor. She’s a counselor and consultant. She’s the engine that drives Look GREAT in Print, and I’m honored to have worked with her. She gets all my business. If someone who reads this needs more than a book designer, well, she should be listed in the dictionary under “book guru.”

Allow me to tell verbally anyone it concerns how well she constructed my treasure. She’s a treasure.

“Accessible, Responsive and Professional!”

Ron CappsTrust. It is such a small word that has so much potency and yet can be so fragile.

When you finally reach the point that you are ready to share your book with the world, you will need to find a collaborative partner that is skilled in the process of doing the formatting and layout for your submission to a publisher. You have to be prepared to trust that the collaborator that you have selected will be able to provide the expertise required to take your book from concept to reality.

I was fortunate to meet Sheila, the driving force behind “Look GREAT In Print,” and I learned that I could “trust” her throughout the publishing process when I wrote A Parent’s Guide to Locating Responsible Child Care.

Throughout the publishing process, Sheila was accessible, responsive and professional. One couldn’t have found a better publishing collaborator to work with in the creation of both a physical and digital product.

You can be confident in your choice of Sheila and “Look GREAT In Print” as someone that you can “trust” to do the design, formatting and layout of your next book … whether it be your first or thirtieth.

“The Look that Was Absolutely Perfect”

Cindi DawsonWhen you’ve known someone as long as we’ve known each other, it’s always a little risky to work together. You’re afraid of ruining the relationship, overstepping the friendship bounds to move into the business realm, etc. But when we worked together recently, we never had that problem.

I love the graphics you did for Our Aging Loved Ones. As you know, it’s a study course focused on eldercare. I wrestled with the look, the feel, the overall approach because I had never worked in this market before. But you were great! You helped me figure out the color scheme, the type of graphic that would speak to the target market, and then you put all the pieces together to form the “look” that was absolutely perfect. The project would never have been presentable without you and that’s a fact.

I appreciate the time and knowledge you brought to Our Aging Loved Ones. And when people compliment the way it looks, I always tell them “it’s all because of an old friend and a new business associate.” They just don’t know the two are one person.

Thanks again. I couldn’t have done it without you.
